Box Score WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark University women's lacrosse team (3-8, 0-5 NEWMAC) opened a two-game homestand with a midweek contest against Springfield (8-5, 4-1 NEWMAC) and fell 18-2 to the Pride on Wednesday night from Granger Field.
How it Happened
- The Pride jumped out to an early 5-0 lead before senior Maddie Conners recorded her first save of the game and junior Mary Greene scooped up a ground ball.
- Sophomore Aubrey Conners and junior Angela Borelli each put shots on target before the end of the first that were saved.
- Maddie Conners registered her second save of the contest early in the second quarter and late in the quarter, senior Sophie Didier and junior Greer McCarty each put shots on goal that were saved after McCarty scooped up a ground ball.
- Senior Kiley Simmons nearly put the Cougars on the board to start the third, but had the shot saved and later had another attempt stopped.
- Sophomore Erin Lucas hit the post on a free position shot and Aubrey Conners put a shot on goal that was stopped.
- Simmons got Clark on the board in the fourth as the senior netted a free position goal with 10:37 remaining.
- Senior Elizabeth Liakos added the Cougars final goal of the game with 5:27 to go as she carved through the Pride's defense as Clark fell 18-2.
