Erin Hunter Named Strength and Conditioning Coach

WORCESTER, Mass. – Clark University Director of Athletics and Recreation Trish Cronin announced the addition of Erin Hunter as the first strength and conditioning coach in program history on Friday afternoon.

"I am extremely excited to begin this new role as Strength and Conditioning Coach at Clark University," said Hunter. "I'm so thankful for the opportunity to not only work at a great institution but to build a strength program and work with such a supportive and driven department. I would like to thank Trish Cronin for believing in me and giving me this opportunity. I can't wait to get started!"

Hunter arrives to Clark after spending the past few months as a strength and conditioning intern at Holy Cross. Some of the roles and responsibilities Hunter had at Holy Cross included assisting with the strength and conditioning sessions for the varsity basketball teams, coaching a strength and conditioning summer camp, and attending leadership workshops.

Prior to Holy Cross, Hunter spent February – May as a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach at Smith. At Smith, Hunter assisted in coaching sessions for the rowing, softball, and soccer teams, was the main strength coach for track and field, coached proper multi-joint sport movements and injury prevention exercises, taught a weight training class, and supervised two interns.

Hunter also spent three years at Mount Holyoke as an assistant basketball coach, recruiting coordinator, and was also a strength and conditioning intern. Hunter's strength and conditioning role included coordinating sessions for the rowing and volleyball teams, collaborating with the athletic training staff to devise injury management and prevention strategies, and ran conditioning sessions for the basketball team.

Hunter graduated from the University of Hertfordshire in 2017 with a bachelor's degree in English Language and Communication. In 2023, Hunter received a master's degree in 2023 from Smith in Exercise and Sport Studies. Hunter has qualifications as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and is CPR/AED certified.
