Field Hockey Falls to No. 5 Williams

WILLIAMSPORT, Mass. – The Clark field hockey team (1-1) played their first road game of the season and fell 8-0 to No. 5 Williams (1-0) on Tuesday night from Williamson Field.  

How it Happened
  • Sophomore Loren Root got the start in goal for Clark and recorded the first save of the match less than a minute in and registered another save in the sixth minute to keep the game tied at 0-0.
  • The Cougars earned a penalty corner in the ninth minute that got them a shot from sophomore Elizabeth Cacciapaglia that went just wide and after a goal by the Ephs, Root recorded four more saves in the quarter as Clark trailed 2-0.
  • Root opened the second quarter up with three more saves and added one more stop before the half as the scarlet and white was behind 3-0.
  • Sophomore goalie Alexandra Cacciapaglia subbed in to start the second half in net and after Williams was able to score three goals, sophomore Alison Kopec attempted a shot that was blocked and Cacciapaglia recorded two more saves.
  • In the fourth quarter, Clark earned a penalty corner, which was taken by sophomore Jenna Beauchain and Cacciapaglia added two more saves as the Cougars fell 8-0.
