Men's Soccer Falls to Wentworth

BOSTON, Mass. - Clark men's soccer (1-1-1) battled for Wentworth (2-1) for 90 minutes, but fell to the Leopards 3-1 on Wednesday night from Sweeney Field.

How it Happened
  • Sophomore Mauro Perez Colon put the first shot of the game on target in the ninth minute that was saved by Noah Lawless and in the 18th minute first-year Evan Thompson hit the post.
  • Senior Andrew DiStefano recorded a pair of saves in the 18th and 21st minutes and in the 28th minute, first-year Marc Kim netted his first career goal off a service in from fellow first-year Charles Lopez and junior Will Lopez to give Clark a 1-0 edge.
  • The Leopards then responded with a pair of goals within a three-minute stretch and first-year Carter Benoff nearly tied the game with a shot on target that was saved by Lawless in the 34th minute.
  • Sophomore Ben Siegel and senior Anyolo Makatiani also put shots on target before the half as Wentworth led 2-1 at the half.
  • William Lopez put a shot on goal that was saved in the 49th minute and in the 52nd minute, DiStefano saved a penalty kick to keep the score 2-1.
  • DiStefano stopped another shot in the 60th minute and in the 66th minute, senior Teddy Donahue put a shot on goal that was saved by Lawless.
  • DiStefano recorded another save in the 73rd minute, but the Leopards added their third goal two minutes later as Dylan Michaud found the back of the net.
  • Donahue and first-year Luca Echeumuna each put shots on target before the end of the match, but both were stopped as Clark fell 3-1.

  • Kim's goal was the first of his career.
  • William Lopez's assist was his second of the year and eighth of his career.
