Boston, Mass. - Clark University men's basketball team (13-3, 7-0 NEWMAC) cruised to a 91-67 victory over MIT (2-14, 1-6 NEWMAC) on Saturday afternoon from Rockwell Cage.
How it Happened
? The Cougars jumped out to an early 11-6 lead as junior Kekoa McArdle netted four points, sophomore Reid Neumann hit a triple, and both junior Isaiah Taylor and senior Mikey O'Brien all scored.
? After the Engineers pulled back within two, Clark went on a 13-0 run as Taylor led the way with five points while also getting contributions from O'Brien, McArdle, senior Jordan Richard, and junior Bruce Saintilus as the Cougars led 26-12 with 7:32 remaining in the first half.
? MIT pulled within 10 before Saintilus converted an and-one and junior Ian Calabrese hit a three-pointer to put the Cougars up 34-20 with 2:41 to go in the half.
? Neumann led the team with a three-pointer before the half and buckets from Taylor, Calabrese, and McArdle helped the scarlet and white take a 43-22 lead into the half.
? Out of the half, Neumann hit another three-pointer and a made layup from McArdle extended the lead to 50-26 with 17:02 to go.
? Saintilus and McArdle combined to score the team's next 10 points as the scarlet and white possessed a 60-37 edge with 13:40 remaining.
? Taylor made a layup and a Neumann triple helped keep a 22-point lead before the Engineers cut the deficit to 14 at 67-53.
? Neumann connected on another triple and a three-pointer from Richard pushed the lead back up to 17 and a made layup from Saintilus with 4:28 remaining gave Clark an 81-56 lead.
