Women's Basketball Cruises to 87-48 Win Against Regis

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark women's basketball team (4-0) extended their winning streak to four games with a convincing 87-48 victory over Regis (0-3) on Saturday afternoon from the Kneller Gymnasium.

How it Happened
  • The Cougars jumped out to an early 10-5 lead as both graduate student Alaina Schatzabel and sophomore Kailey Rios netted four points, with the other bucket coming off a jumper from first-year Cyriah Coleman.
  • After the Pride pulled within one at 11-10, Clark ended the quarter on a 14-0 run as sophomore Catherine Antwi led the way with seven points, senior Megan Swedberg added three, and both sophomore Olivia Shipley and Coleman found the scoresheet as the Cougars led 25-10.
  • Rios opened the quarter with a three-pointer before scored Clark's next 10 points between layups and free throws as the Cougars held a 38-14 advantage.
  • Graduate student Jacqueline Faulise buried a three-pointer before the break and points from Antwi, Swedberg, and first-year Juliette Tarsa gave Clark a 46-14 edge at the half.
  • Rios and Schatzabel combined to score the scarlet and white's first eight points of the second half before a layup from Coleman helped give the Cougars a 59-21 lead with 5:17 to play in the third.
  • After another Rios triple, sophomore Emma Drefs, Swedberg, Antwi, and Tarsa all scored in the remainder of the quarter as Clark led 73-24.
  • In the fourth quarter, junior Ashley Leighton scored eight points, first-year Elise Cho added five, and first-year Elianna Wood added a free throw as the scarlet and white came away with an 87-48 victory.

  • Clark grabbed 52 rebounds, dished out 23 assists, registered 16 steals, and forced 21 turnovers.
  • Schatzabel led the team with 19 points and added three steals.
  • Rios tallied 15 points, four steals, and hit a pair of three-pointers.
  • Antwi also reached double-figures with 12 points and added a team-leading five steals.
  • Coleman led the team with five assists and tallied eight points.
  • Faulise pulled down a team-leading 11 rebounds.
  • 15 Cougars appeared in the game, with 12 scoring points.
