Men's Soccer Falls to Emerson in Season Finale

BOSTON, Mass. - Clark men's soccer (5-9-4, 0-7-1 NEWMAC) traveled to Emerson (7-9-2, 3-4-1 NEWMAC) for their final match of the season and fell 3-1 to the Lions on Saturday afternoon from Rotch Field.

How it Happened
  • Junior Diego Marin recorded a save less than a minute into the game before the Lions took a 1-0 lead in the sixth minute off a shot from Theodore Bushara.
  • Fellow junior Ben Siegel nearly tied the match up with a shot on goal that was stopped by Beckett Hobbs before Marin tallied another save in the 23rd minute.
  • Before the half, Siegel and sophomore Carter Benoff each attempted shots that were denied as the Cougars trailed 1-0.
  • Rohan Edwards fired a shot on goal that got past Marin in the 49th minute and Bushara added to the advantage in the 54th minute with a goal to put the Lions up 3-0.
  • Sophomore Dwight Santiago fired a shot that was saved before sophomore Ephraim Butson scored off a feed from senior Colin Ruiz to pull Clark back within two at 3-1 in the 68th minute.
  • Senior Tyler Manley and first-year Jordan Adeyemi each created chances before the end of the contest, but saw their shots saved as the Cougars fell 3-1.
