WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark men's swimming and diving team hosted their first meet of the season, which was also their pride meet when Bridgewater State came to the Kneller on Saturday afternoon.
The Cougars fell 156-70 to Bridgewater State.
How it Happened
- In the 200-yard medley relay, Michael Villalba, Joe Genovesi, Daniel Neau, and Declan Hanscom finished fourth overall with a time of 1:54.90.
- Samuel Bier (10:53.00) and Rowan Compton (11:04.00) placed second and third in the 1000-yard freestyle.
- Daniel Smith recorded a victory in the 200-yard freestyle with a mark of 1:58.50 and Nick Cordell finished third.
- Villalba (24.88) and Hanscom (25.60) finished third and fourth overall in the 50-yard freestyle.
- In the 100-yard individual medley, Theo Bayne (1:02.46) and Genovesi (1:05.18) placed third and fifth.
- Smith (1:00.15) and Bayne (1:00.56) recorded third and fourth-place finishes in the 100-yard butterfly.
- In the 100-yard freestyle, Villalba (54.60) and Hanscom (57.16) finished second and fourth.
- Bier (1:00.35) registered a second-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke and Genovesi (1:06.69) placed third.
- Smith recorded his second win of the day in the 500-yard freestyle event with a mark of 5:23.16, while Compton (5:25.26) and Cordell (5:37.71) finished second and third.
- Bayne closed the individual events with a time of 1:06.71 in the 100-yard breaststroke.
- In the 200-yard freestyle, Cordell, Compton, Neau, and Bier placed third with a mark of 1:46.23.

Clark will return to the water on Friday, December 6 when they travel to WPI for the first day of the Gompei Invitational.
