WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark men's swimming and diving team traveled to WPI for the annual Worcester City Championships and finished fourth overall on Saturday morning from the WPI Sports and Recreation Center.
How it Happened
- In the 400-yard medley relay, Michael Villalba, Theodore Bayne, Rowan Compton, and Daniel Smith finished 10th with a time of 4:02.76.
- Nick Cordell placed 15th overall with a mark of 2:00.61 in the 200-yard freestyle event.
- In the 100-yard backstroke, Samuel Bier (1:00.93) and Villalba (1:01.47) finished seventh and ninth overall.
- In the 200-yard freestyle relay, Villalba, Declan Hanscom, Smith, and Cordell placed 12th with a mark of 1:40.09.
- Bayne recorded a 12th place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke after clocking a time of 2:28.42.
- In the 200-yard butterfly, Compton (2:14.83) and Smith (2:17.35) finished eighth and ninth overall.
- Villalba (25.81), Hanscom (25.90), Cordell (25.95), and Daniel Neau (29.37) placed 14th, 15th, 16th, and 20th in the 50-yard freestyle.
- In the 100-yard freestyle, Villalba (56.02), Hanscom (57.19), and Neau (1:07.38) competed in the 100-yard freestyle.
- Bier placed fifth overall in the 200-yard backstroke with a mark of 2:13.78.
- In the 100-yard breaststroke, Bayne clocked a time of 1:06.97, which was good for 16th overall.
- Bier (5:24.87) and Cordell (5:36.56) each finished in the top 10 of the 500-yard freestyle event.
- In the 200-yard medley relay, Smith, Bayne, Compton, and Villalba registered a time of 1:51.95.
- Smith (59.48), Bayne (1:00.73), Compton (1:00.80), and Neau (1:17.98) all competed in the 100-yard butterfly.
- Clark closed out the day in the 400-yard freestyle relay, with Smith, Villalba, Bier, and Cordell clocking a time of 3:39.78.

Clark will compete in their first home meet of the season on Saturday, November 23 when they welcome Bridgewater State to the Kneller beginning at 1:00 p.m.
