Men's Swimming and Diving Places Seventh at NEWMAC Championships

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Clark men's swimming and diving team closed out their 2023-24 season in the final day of the NEWMAC Championships and finished seventh overall with a score of 221 on Sunday.

How it Happened

In the 1650-yard freestyle event, Sam Bier qualified for the final and clocked a time of 17:31.54, before Rowan Compton (17:41.59) and Alex Bielecki (17:51.27) also earned points in the final.
Compton later swam in the 200-yard butterfly final and registered a time of 2:05.49.
Bradyn Potter (51.06), Michael Villalba (52.16), Daniel Smith (52.34), Evan Sucov (52.80), Declan Hanscom (54.08), Owen Powers (54.72), Oscar Wong (55.36), Jonathan Solomon (56.87), and Daniel Neau (1:03.56) swam in the 100-yard freestyle preliminaries.
In the 200-yard breaststroke, Tyler Broderick (2:18.77) and Alex Bielecki (2:19.66) competed in the preliminaries.
In the 400-yard freestyle relay, Potter, Broderick, Bielecki, and Villalba clocked a time of 3:31.65 and in the B final, Cordell, Compton, Smith, and Sucov registered a mark of 3:30.02.
