Women's Tennis Drops Match at Wellesley

WELLESLEY, Mass. – The Clark University women's tennis team (3-11, 0-8 NEWMAC) played their second game in two days at Wellesley (11-4, 6-1 NEWMAC) and fell 9-0 to the Blue from the Amy Batchelor Tennis Courts on Tuesday afternoon.

Doubles: Wellesley 3, Clark 0
  • Clark's s first doubles team of graduate student Maeve McEnroe and sophomore Merielle Kane dropped their match 8-0 to Mu and Alviar.
  • In number two doubles, sophomores Crisi Patel and Olivia Shipley won two games against Xu and Pak.
  • Junior Emma Allen and first-year Varvara dropped their match 8-1 in number three doubles to Madhusudan and Khera.
Singles: Wellesley 6, Clark 0
  • Allen won a game in the second set against Cade, but fell 6-0, 6-1 in number five singles.
  • Maltseva won a game in the first set against Fan in number six singles.
  • Shipley (No. 1), McEnroe (No. 2), Kane (No. 3), and Patel (No. 4) all dropped their matches in straight sets.
What's Next
The Cougars will compete in their final game of the 2024 season on Saturday afternoon with a road game at Mount Holyoke beginning at 12:00 p.m.
