WORCESTER, Mass. – No.4 Clark men's tennis is set to compete in the NEWMAC Quarterfinals this afternoon against No. 5 Springfield from Mount Holyoke College.
This is the Cougars fifth straight season with an appearance in the postseason and the four regular season NEWMAC wins are the most ever in a season.

Scouting the Pride
Springfield enters the NEWMAC Tournament with conference wins over Wheaton, Salve Regina, and Emerson. Tatsuya Kimoto leads the Pride with six wins in number one singles and won three NEWMAC games. Zach Taub is Springfield's number six player and has tallied nine total wins and went 6-1 in the league. Phakin Thongbooncharoen and Ethan Gomulka also added three NEWMAC victories in singles. In doubles, Villanueva and Kimoto won six matches together, including five in number one play and three in the league. Gomulka and Thongbooncharoen have tallied five wins in number three doubles.
Scouting the Cougars
Clark enters NEWMAC's with conference victories over Springfield, Wheaton, Salve Regina, and Emerson. The Cougars are led by Shepherd-Johnson who has played primarily number one singles for the Cougars, collecting nine total victories and seven in number one play. Kirkorian has added seven total wins as well for Clark, with six of them coming in number two singles. Honnef, Hovey, and Russo have also each added seven singles victories across number three to five play this season.
