WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark University women's lacrosse team (7-9, 3-7 NEWMAC) closed out their 2024 season with a home game against Coast Guard (12-4, 7-3 NEWMAC) on Wednesday afternoon from Granger Field and were defeated 19-2 by the Bears.
How it Happened
- Junior Annie Battle recorded five saves in the first quarter, including a pair of saves within 10 seconds of each other, but the Bears opened the game with 10 straight goals as they held a 10-0 edge after one quarter of play.
- In the second quarter, sophomore Elizabeth Cacciapaglia, senior Angela Borelli, and graduate student Elizabeth Liakos each won draw controls and Liakos put a shot on target that was saved just before the half as Clark trailed 14-0.
- Cacciapaglia opened the third quarter with a goal off a feed from graduate student Sophie Didier and scored a free position goal late in the third as Clark trailed 17-2.
- Sophomore Victoria Holden stopped a pair of shots in the fourth and senior Mary Greene hit the post as the Cougars fell 19-2.
