Women's Soccer Drops Home Match to No. 23 Brandeis

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark University women's soccer team (2-2-0) completed a four-game homestand when they welcomed No. 23 Brandeis (4-0-0) to Granger and were edged 4-2 by the Judges on Wednesday night.

How it Happened
  • Peterly Leroy gave the Judges an early 1-0 lead in the 12th minute off a feed from Tanvi Raju and shortly after, senior Anabella White stopped three shots to keep the score line the same.
  • First-year Georgia Louis nearly tied the game up in the 22nd minute with a shot on goal that was saved before Rachel Watler added the second Brandeis goal from outside the box in the 27th minute and White registered another save shortly after.
  • After a goal from Leroy, Louis dribbled around the Judge defense and found the back of the net to bring the Cougars within two goals at 3-1 in the 40th minute.
  • Selena Santiago extended Brandeis' lead to 4-1 right as the clock hit triple zeroes and right out of the break, White stopped two more shots.
  • In the 73rd minute, junior Gabriela Herivaux sent a ball into the middle of the box from the right side and first-year Selene Hammad was able to fire the ball past Rachel Ross to make it a 4-2 contest.
  • Hammad nearly pulled Clark within one with a shot from outside the box in the 87th minute that went inches over the top of the goal as the scarlet and white fell 4-2.
