BRISTOL, R.I. – The Clark University men's tennis team (1-0) opened the 2024-25 season with a 5-2 road victory over Roger Williams (0-1) on Saturday afternoon.

Doubles: Clark 3, Roger Williams 0
- Sophomore Edward Shepherd-Johnson and first-year Aris Kirkorian opened the year strong with a convincing 6-1 win in number one play over Carroll and Hurlbut.
- In number two doubles, first-year Ziad Tabbara and sophomore Drew Morris earned their first win together with a 6-3 victory against Poitras and Collins.
- Senior Ryan Hovey and junior Graham Russo battled with Taylor and Rodriguez before coming away with a thrilling 7-5 victory.
Singles: Clark 4, Roger Williams 2
- Morris got Clark on the board in singles with a 6-3, 3-6, 11-9 tiebreak victory in number three action over Poitras.
- In number five action, Hovey only lost two games between his two sets as he came away with a 6-2, 6-0 win against Rodriguez.
- Tabbara clinched the match for Clark in number four play with a 6-4, 7-6 (5) victory over Taylor.
- Russo also tallied a victory for the Cougars by a 6-3, 6-4 margin in number six singles.
- Shepherd-Johnson (No. 1) 4-6, 3-6 and Kirkorian (No. 2) 4-6, 7-5, 10-5 also competed for the scarlet and white.

Clark will return to the court on Saturday when they travel to Nichols for a night match beginning at 6:00 p.m.
