HARTFORD, Conn. – The Clark men's swimming and diving team recorded a 170-77 victory over St. Joe's (Ct.) in a tri-meet with the Blue Jays and Bantams on Saturday afternoon from the Trinity Natatorium.
The Cougars recorded 11 first-place finishes on the day against St. Joe's (Ct.).
How it Happened
- In the 200-yard medley relay, Samuel Bier, Theo Bayne, Rowan Compton, and Daniel Smith compiled a time of 1:50.00, which was good for fourth overall and above St. Joe's.
- Owen Powers (11:38.54) and Declan Hanscom (13:04.41) placed first and third in the 1000-yard freestyle event against the Blue Jays.
- Nick Cordell (1:59.52) and Smith (2:00.65) finished first and third for the scarlet and white in the 200-yard freestyle.
- In the 50-yard backstroke, Bier (27.73) tallied a victory, while Michael Villalba (29.66) and Gabriel Graphia (37.19) placed second and third.
- Compton (1:01.11), Hanscom (1:05,15), and Owen Powers (1:06.18) recorded first, third, and fourth place tallies in the 100-yard butterfly.
- Bayne (31.92) and Joseph Genovesi (33.05) finished second and fourth overall in the 50-yard breaststroke.
- In the 50-yard freestyle, Smith (24.07) and Evan Sucov (24.81) registered first and second place finishes.
- Smith (54.18), Sucov (56.87), and Genovesi (58.15) placed second, third, and fourth in the 100-yard freestyle.
- Bier (1:00.46), Villalba (1:03.11), and Graphia (1:23.01) finished first, second, and fourth overall in the 100-yard backstroke.
- Bayne (1:09.19), Graphia (1:21.78), and Daniel Neau (1:40,06) tallied first, third, and fourth-place finishes in the 100-yard breaststroke.
- In the 500-yard freestyle, Cordell (5:31.69) and Powers (5:33.25) posted first and second-place performances.
- Genovesi (27.38) and Compton (27.90) placed in the top two in the 50-yard butterfly.
- Compton (1:05.71), Bayne (1:06.15), and Neau (1:21.35) finished third, fourth, and fifth in the 100-yard individual medley.
- In the 800-yard freestyle relay, Bier, Powers, Villalba, and Cordell placed third overall with a mark of 8:04.77.
