WALTHAM, Mass. – The Clark men's swimming and diving team competed for the first time in two weeks and fell 149-93 to Brandeis on Saturday afternoon, which included three first-place finishes.

How it Happened

• Rowan Compton (5:26.98), Samuel Bier (5:32.43), and Evan Sucov (5:52.93) placed first through third in the 500-yard freestyle.
• The Cougars closed out the day with a first-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay as Nick Cordell, Owen Powers, Samuel Bier, and Michael Villalba with a mark of 3:38.98.
• Powers and Joseph Genovesi finished first and second overall in the 100-yard individual medley with times of 1:05.38 and 1:11.67.
• In the 200-yard medley relay, Compton, Theodore Bayne, Genovesi, and Sucov finished fourth overall with a time of 1:51.97.
• Bayne (1:08.18) and Powers (1:15.07) posted second and fifth place finishes in the 100-yard breaststroke, while Bayne later placed second in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:30.12).
• In the 200-yard backstroke, Villalba (2:14.63), Bier (2:16.13), and Compton (2:17.97) finished third through fifth.
• Nick Cordell (2:00.49), Villalba (2:00.53), and Gabriel Graphia (2:15.37) placed third, fourth, and sixth in the 200-yard freestyle.
• In the 50-yard freestyle, Daniel Smith (25.03), Genovesi (25.54), and Declan Hanscom (26.50) finished third through fifth, while Smith later placed third in the 100-yard freestyle (53.70) and second in the 100-yard butterfly (59.02).
• Bier (1:01.37) and Hanscom (1:09.46) recorded third and fifth place finishes in the 100-yard backstroke.
• In the 200-yard butterfly, Compton (2:15.61) and Daniel Neau (3:07.70) placed fourth and fifth.

Clark will return to the water on Saturday, February 1 when they welcome Coast Guard to the Kneller for their senior day meet starting at 1:00 p.m.
