PAXTON, Mass. - Clark men's soccer (4-7-2) first-year
Jacob Ordonez netted the game-winning goal in the 83rd minute as the Cougars prevailed 3-2 over Anna Maria (3-9-1) on Wednesday night from Caparso Field.
How it Happened
- Junior Kofi Poku fired the first shot attempt of the game on target that was saved by Federico Foganio before senior Ben Siegel found a sliding first-year Theo Massie-Vereker and Massie-Vereker found the back right corner of the goal to give Clark a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute.
- Senior Diego Marin stopped a pair of shots over the first 18 minutes of play before first-year Jacob Ordonez fired a shot that went just high of the mark in the 24th minute.
- Marin recorded one more save before the half on a shot from Chris Zeppieri as the Cougars took a 1-0 edge into the break.
- In the 50th minute, Ariel Garcia scored off a feed from Isidore Papillon before Massie-Vereker and first-year Shahmeer Waseem each fired shots on goal that were saved,
- Massie-Vereker scored off a volley in the 52nd minute to give Clark back a 2-1 edge before junior Jaime Pedraza stopped a pair of shots.
- In the 80th minute, Kyle Brocker tied the game at 2-2 with a goal off a feed from Ben Chikwanha.
- Ordonez collected a loose ball in front of the goal in the 83rd minute and buried it into the bottom right corner as Clark came away with a thrilling 3-2 victory.
