WORCESTER, Mass. – Clark University men's soccer (5-8-3, 1-4-2 NEWMAC) hosted Springfield College (6-8-1, 2-3-1 NEWMAC) for Senior Day, closing out the home portion of the regular season. Both teams scored in the first half but couldn't find a winner in the second, resulting in a 1-1 draw.
How it Happened

Both teams exchanged some wild shots in the early minutes before senior Mauro Perez Colon recorded the first shot on goal in the 31st minute.

The scoring opened shortly after, as first-year Shahmeer Waseem won the race to a rebound in front of goal and poked the ball across to junior Carter Benoff for the tap-in finish, giving Clark a 1-0 lead.

Springfield found an answer in the 42nd minute when a perfect cross from Talan Bradley connected with the head of Parker Thornton for the equalizer, sending the game into halftime tied 1-1.

Senior Diego Marin kept the game even in the second half, making three saves in the span of a minute.

Benoff added a shot on goal in the 70th minute but couldn't find the go-ahead strike.

Marin made two more saves down the stretch, including one in the 85th minute, as the match ended in a 1-1 stalemate.
