Louis and Daigle Earn All-NEWMAC Women's Soccer Honors

MARLBOROUGH, Mass. – The Clark University women's soccer team saw sophomore Georgia Louis and sophomore Camilla Daigle earn spots on the All-NEWMAC Women's Soccer Team as announced by the conference office on Thursday morning.

All-NEWMAC Teams

This is Louis' second All-Conference accolade as she was named to the Second Team last season. Daigle earned her first All-Conference honor.

Louis (West Hartford, Conn.) led the team in goals with eight and assists with nine on the season. She ranked second in the NEWMAC in assists and seventh in the league in goals. The sophomore recorded three multi-goal games with performances against Framingham State, Worcester State, and Smith. She tallied points in 11 different contests, including in NEWMAC games against WPI, Babson, Smith, Coast Guard, Mount Holyoke, and Springfield. She attempted 45 shots on goal, which was the most of any player in the NEWMAC.

Coach Smith's Thoughts
"Georgia's performance this season was exceptional. Earning 25 points in a single season, the most any player has earned since 1999, is a remarkable achievement that showcases her dedication and hard work. Georgia is among the most dangerous forwards in the region, and we are thrilled that the NEWMAC coaches have selected her to the first team. We are extremely proud of her accomplishments and excited about her future!"

Daigle (Longmeadow, Mass.) appeared in and started 15 games for the scarlet and white this season for the Cougars backline. She helped Clark's defense post seven shutouts, with shutouts against Nichols, Framingham State, Worcester State, Williams, Emerson, Mount Holyoke, and Wellesley. In Clark's 2-1 victory over Salve Regina in their home finale, Daigle recorded a critical defensive save and dished out an assist in a win over Nichols. She logged over 1,200 minutes.

Coach Smith's Thoughts
"Camilla was a commanding presence in the back for us this season. Her performance against Williams, the seventh-ranked team in the country, was particularly impressive. We were able to shut them out, making our team one of only three teams to do so this fall. She also played a significant role in shutouts over Emerson, MHC, and Wellesley and had a key defensive save against Salve. This is well earned recognition and a testament to how hard Camilla works!"
