WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark men's swimming and diving team opened their 2025-26 season with a home meet against Babson and fell 189-34 to the Beavers on Saturday afternoon from the Kneller Pool.  

How it Happened

• In the 200-yard medley relay, junior Samuel Bier, sophomore Theodore Bayne, senior Daniel Smith, and first-year Morgan Murray finished fourth with a time of 1:47.24.
• Junior Michael Villalba, sophomore Gabriel Graphia, junior Declan Hanscom, and junior Bradyn Potter (1:55.97) as well as first-year Max Klein, sophomore Joseph Genovesi, senior Nick Cordell, and junior Daniel Neau (1:59.58) also competed in the 200-yard medley relay.
• Murray finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke with a mark of 1:03.65.
• Bier (11:38.2), Villalba (11:59.21), and junior Owen Powers (12:06.75) placed fourth, fifth, and sixth in the 1,000-yard freestyle.
• In the 200-yard freestyle, Cordell (2:01.08), Hanscom (2:07.65), and Neau (2:25.96) posted fourth, fifth, and sixth place finishes.
• Potter (24.11), Smith (24.19), and Genovesi (24.74) competed in the 50-yard freestyle.
• Murray (58.52), Bayne (1:03.89), and Klein (1:05.97) placed fourth through sixth in the 100-yard individual medley.
• In the 100-yard butterfly, Smith (59.44), Genovesi (1:06.25), and Neau (1:17.26) finished fourth, fifth, and sixth.
• Potter tallied a third-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle with a mark of 54.92, while Hanscom (55.93) and Graphia (57.10) also swam.
• Bier (1:02.04) and Villalba (1:04.14) competed in the 100-yard backstroke.
• In the 500-yard freestyle, Klein (5:37.12), Cordell (5:45.33), and Powers (5:49.65) placed fourth through sixth.
• In the 200-yard freestyle relay, Cordell, Klein, Genovesi, and Powers finished fourth and clocked a time of 1:42.56.

The Cougars will compete in the Worcester City Championships at WPI on Saturday morning beginning at 10:00 a.m.
