WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark women's swimming and diving team saw senior
Sydney Kochensparger (500-yard freestyle) and sophomore
Libby Davidson (50-yard freestyle) each qualify for the finals in their respective event on day two of the 2025 NEWMAC Championships.
The Cougars are currently in 10th with a score of 100 points.
How it Happened
- Kochensparger qualified for the 500-yard freestyle final by posting a career-best mark of 5:23.73 in the qualifiers and later clocked a 5:30.25 in the final.
- Davidson qualified for the finals in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.74 in the preliminaries and recorded a time of 25.08 later in the final.
- The Cougars opened the day in the 200-yard freestyle relay, with Davidson, first-year Daizy Sweetman, senior Emily Munjar, and junior Wynne Collins clocked a time of 1:46.48 and later recorded a mark of 1:42.34.
- Sophomore Abby Seguin (5:26.19), sophomore Sarah Tarinelli (6:02.66), and first-year Hazel Thomas (6:07.78) also competed in the 500-yard freestyle event preliminaries.
- In the 200-yard individual medley preliminaries, first-year Charlotte Scott (2:31.13) swam for the scarlet and white.
- Junior Wynne Collins (25.93), senior Annemaire Walsh (26.79), and junior Brandy Mercado (29.16) competed in the 50-yard freestyle preliminaries
- The Cougars closed out the morning portion of the day in the 400-yard medley relay as Munjar, Sweetman, Tarinelli, and Davidson posted a time of 4:24.46 and later improved their time to 4:11.48.
- In the one-meter dive, first-year Belle Roderick recorded a career-best score of 301.70.

Clark will return to the water tomorrow morning when they compete in day three of the NEWMAC Championships at WPI beginning at 10:00 a.m.
