Women's Basketball Loses to Babson in Season Finale

BABSON PARK, Mass. – The Clark women's basketball team (11-14, 3-8 NEWMAC) wrapped up their 2024-25 season with a road game at Babson (16-9, 8-3 NEWMAC) and were bested 85-56 by the Beavers on Saturday afternoon from Staake Gymnasium.

How it Happened
  • The Cougars and Beavers played to an early 6-6 tie as graduate student Alaina Schatzabel and sophomore Catherine Antwi each scored three points before Babson rattled off 24 straight points.
  • Senior Megan Swedberg scored Clark's final points of the first quarter before first-year Cyriah Coleman netted the Cougars next three points and a free throw from Schatzabel made it a 49-12 contest entering the half.
  • Coleman netted Clark's first five points of the third before Antwi, sophomore Emma Drefs, and sophomore Kailey Rios all made layups in the middle of the quarter.
  • First-year Alyssa Bordonaro, Rios, Drefs, Coleman, and sophomore Juliette Tarsa all scored before the end of the third as Bordonaro led the way with five points as the Cougars trailed 68-40.
  • Schatzabel led Clark with five points in the fourth quarter, while Coleman added four and sophomore Olivia Shipley, Bordonaro, junior Ashley Leighton, and Antwi each scored as Clark fell 85-56.

  • Clark grabbed 29 rebounds, forced 13 turnovers, made 19 shots, and dished out eight assists.
  • Coleman led the team with 15 points and went 8-9 from the free throw line.
