HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Clark University women's tennis team (2-6) extended their winning streak to two games in Hilton Head with a 5-2 victory over St. John Fisher on Tuesday morning.
Doubles: Clark 2, St. John Fisher 1
- In number one doubles, junior Merielle Kane and first-year Larkin Gardinier tallied a 6-2 victory over Renzi and Kelly.
- Sophomore Varvara Maltseva and first-year Amanda Keith battled with Miller and Fisher in number two play, but ultimately came away with a 7-6 (7-2) win.
- Senior Amy Marin and first-year Chau Quach also tallied a 6-0 win against Buttini and Emerson in number three.
Singles: Clark 4, St. John Fisher 2
- In number three singles, Kane recorded a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Fisher.
- Keith tallied a 6-3, 6-2 win in number four singles against Kopolow.
- In number five action, Quach recorded a 6-4, 6-2 victory against Emerson.
- Senior Emma Allen also registered a 6-3, 6-2 win in number six play against Martin.
- Gardinier won three games in each set, but ultimately fell 3-6, 3-6 to Renzi in number one action.
- Maltseva dropped her match 4-6, 0-6 to Miller in number two play.
What's Next
Clark will close out their spring break trip with a match against Dubuque beginning at 5:30 p.m. tomorrow night.
