Baseball Drops Shortened Game Against Salve Regina

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark University baseball team (18-10, 4-6 NEWMAC) concluded their two-game series against Salve Regina (18-7, 7-3 NEWMAC) and played a shortened contest in the rain and fell 10-2 in six innings to the Seahawks on Tuesday afternoon from Granger Field.

How it Happened
  • First-year Robby Roth retired the side in order in the top of the first and in the bottom of the first senior Carter Doran singled and advanced to second on a passed ball before the Seahawks got out of the inning.
  • The Seahawks plated six runs in the second before junior Brayden Hollinrake belted a homer with one out in the second to make it a 6-1 game.
  • Roth tossed a scoreless third and senior Carter Doran singled to center to bring home sophomore Michael Salzillo as the Cougars trailed 6-2.
  • Junior Tommy Flaherty retired Salve Regina in order in the fourth before the Seahawks added a run in the fifth and three in the sixth as they prevailed 10-2.

  • Hollinrake hit a homer and Doran tallied two hits as well as an RBI.
  • Salzillo scored a run and recorded a hit.
What's Next
The Cougars have a short turnaround when they welcome Anna Maria to Granger for a non-conference contest tomorrow beginning at 3:00 p.m.
