CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Clark University women's tennis team (2-11, 0-4 NEWMAC) traveled to No. 16 MIT (9-2, 4-0 NEWMAC) on Saturday morning and dropped the match 7-0 to the Engineers from the J.B. Carr Tennis Bubble.

Doubles: MIT 3, Clark 0

• Sophomore Varvara Maltseva and first-year Amanda Keith won two games in number three doubles against Alicen Liu and Megan Sun before falling 2-6.
• Sophomores Winifred Gakidis and Olivia Shipley tallied a victory in number two doubles, but were bested 1-6 by Saina Deshpande and Anastasia Samets.
• In number one doubles, junior Merielle Kane and first-year Larkin Gardinier competed against Alaina Kolli and Artemis Pados.

Singles: MIT 6, Clark 0

• Senior Emma Allen won a game in the first set against Petrie, but dropped the match 1-6, 0-6 in number six action.
• Kane took a game in the second set in number four singles as she was bested 0-6, 1-6 by Sun.
• Gakidis (No. 1), Shipley (No. 2), Maltseva (Np. 3), and first-year Elena Zhakov (No. 5) also competed.

What's Next
The Cougars will be back in action on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Springfield for a road NEWMAC contest beginning at 11:00 a.m.
