Women's Soccer Drops Road Match at Brandeis

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Clark University women's soccer (2-1-1) suffered their first defeat of the season as they fell 5-0 to Brandeis (4-0-1) on Wednesday night from Gordon Field.

How it Happened
  • The Judges took an early 1-0 lead as Ali Pennella scored off a feed from Samantha Kipperman in the fifth minute.
  • Junior Gabrielle Huryn stopped her first shot of the match in the seventh minute off a shot from Lacey Mbugua before sophomore Madeleine Reeves fired a shot on goal that was stopped by Amaya Logan in the 26th minute.
  • Brandeis added their second goal of the half in the 32nd minute when Peterly Leroy scored off a pass from Emerson Iacovelli as they extended their lead to 2-0.
  • Clark held the Judges without a shot on goal for the remainder of the half as they trailed 2-0 entering the break.
  • Brandeis scored a pair of goals within the first eight minutes as Kipperman netted a pair of goals to extend their lead to 4-0.
  • Sophomore Solimar Rivera created a chance for the Cougars in the 63rd minute with a shot that was stopped by Logan.
  • First-year Calabria Augustino and sophomore Georgia Louis registered shots in the middle of the second half that nearly put the Cougars on the board.
  • Huryn saved a shot from Laurene Createau in the 78th minute and in the 88th minute Reeves attempted a shot that was saved by Logan.
  • Brandeis added their fifth goal of the contest in the 89th minute as Leroy added another goal as the Judges recorded a 5-0 victory.
