Men's Lacrosse Falls to Salve Regina on Saturday

MIDDLETOWN, R.I – The Clark University men's lacrosse team (1-12, 0-5 NEWMAC) traveled to Rhode Island for a NEWMAC contest against Salve Regina (8-3, 3-2 NEWMAC) and fell 18-7 to the Seahawks on Saturday afternoon from Gaudet Field.

How it Happened
  • Sophomore Michael Berman Annunziata fired a shot on goal that was saved by William Kein before Daniel Naglieri netted the first goal of the game for the Seahawks.
  • Junior Tate Gorman tied the game off an assist from Berman Annunziata before Salve Regina scored four unanswered despite a save from Luca Pallsechi and shots on goal from Berman Annunziata, Gorman, and senior Brayden Grainger as the Cougars trailed 5-1.
  • Gorman netted a man-up goal off a pass from junior Eric Aswad before the Seahawks scored the next three goals of the contest.
  • Berman Annunziata scored off a feed from senior Thomas Michaud and before the half, Aswad and Grainger each scored as the scarlet and white trailed 13-5 entering the locker room.
  • Palleschi registered a pair of saves over the first four minutes of the third and Grainger, Gorman, and Michaud each created chances that were stopped.
  • Gorman scored off a feed from Berman Annunziata with 0:11 to go in the third quarter and in the fourth, junior John Nolan found the back of the cage in the fourth as the scarlet and white fell 18-7.
