How it Happened

  • Springfield would jump out to a 4-0 lead in the first five minutes, before a draw control by first-year Jasmine Peters led to the first shot on goal for the Cougars by senior Elizabeth Cacciapaglia.

  • Following a free position shot by E. Cacciapaglia, first-year Ella Forsman would make a save in net with first-year Sydney Simms winning possession back with a caused turnover right after.

  • E. Cacciapaglia would win two draw controls in the final two minutes but the Pride would add three goals in that span, ending the first up 7-0.

  • After a goal by Springfield, Peters would win the draw, leading to a free position shot for first-year Amelia Corbin. Clark would finally break through a minute later with junior Sarah Forrester finding netting on an unassisted shot to make it 8-1.

  • Following a ground ball from E. Cacciapaglia, she would draw a foul, taking advantage of the women-up with an unassisted goal.

  • After a Springfield strike, E. Cacciapaglia would win the following draw control, leading to a goal by Peters with 20 seconds left to make it 12-3 at the half.

  • Springfield would add the first two goals of the second half, with E. Cacciapaglia and sophomore Ava Soch scooping up ground balls in that time frame.

  • Soch and E. Cacciapaglia would add two more ground balls in the last minutes of the half, with sophomore Paige Kemish firing a shot on goal to close the third with the Pride up 14-3.

  • Peters and E. Cacciapaglia would each fire shots on goal to start the fourth, but Springfield would add two more goals to their lead.

  • The Cougars would steal one back as senior Abigail Gallagher grabbed a ground ball, raced down the field, and scored unassisted to make it 16-4.

  • Senior Alexandra Cacciapaglia would scoop two ground balls over the final minutes but Springfield would solidify their lead, scoring twice to conclude the 18-4 win.
