BABSON PARK, Mass. – Clark University women's lacrosse (2-9, 0-6 NEWMAC) continued its conference schedule with a trip to No. 17 Babson (7-4, 4-2 NEWMAC) on Wednesday afternoon. The Beavers used a seven-goal first quarter to pull away, ultimately finishing with a 15-1 win.
How it Happened

Babson jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first ninety seconds. Senior Elizabeth Cacciapaglia controlled the following draw to give Clark its first offensive possession, with first-year Ella Forsman making a save two minutes later on a free position shot to keep the deficit at two.

Following a ground ball from first-year Carys Mitchell, the Beavers prevented a clear and added two more goals to take a 4-0 advantage with 9:22 to play in the quarter.

Forsman made another save on a free position shot, while senior Alexandra Cacciapaglia caused two turnovers over the final nine minutes of the first. Babson added three more goals in that span to take a 7-0 lead.

Sophomore Paige Kemish quickly caused a turnover to start the second quarter, with Forsman scooping up the ground ball, which later led to Clark's first shot on goal by Elizabeth Cacciapaglia.

Following two saves from Forsman, sophomore Sydney McMonagle and first-year Jasmine Peters each added shots on goal. After another save, Babson broke through for the first time in the quarter, scoring two quick goals to extend the lead to nine.

Kemish scooped up a ground ball and Peters won a draw control in the final minutes, but the Beavers added one more goal to close the half up 10-0.

McMonagle won the opening draw of the second half, leading to a quick shot on goal by Elizabeth Cacciapaglia. Peters added another shot later in the period before scoring Clark's first goal moments later on a free position shot.

After some back-and-forth play, Babson added a goal with 6:22 remaining. Senior Abigail Gallagher and first-year Karah Henson each caused turnovers over the next few minutes as the third quarter ended with Babson leading 12-1.

Elizabeth Cacciapaglia opened the fourth with another shot on goal, adding two more later in the quarter, including one with 23 seconds remaining.

Babson added three goals in the period, including one with four seconds left, to secure the 15-1 win on its home field.
