Longtime assistant coach Mike Burlas begins his 21st season and second term with the Cougar coaching staff in 2018-19.

Burlas has spent his entire coaching career with Paul Phillips. He was an assistant for head coach Paul W. Phillips during his first tenure at Clark, and prior to that, assisted him at Anna Maria College from 1990-1996.

During his time with the AMCATS, he helped lead them to four Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) New England Tournaments and the NCAA Sweet 16 in 1996.

Since coming to Main South, Burlas has helped guide the Cougars to five NCAA Tournament appearances, including a pair of Elite Eights in 2002 and 2003.

A 1976 graduate of Assumption College, Burlas was a two-year letterwinner on the Greyhounds football team, serving as the punter for the program.

Burlas holds the title of Justice of the Peace in Massachusetts and is the Operations Manager at Keltec Associates in Westborough, Mass. He has two sons - John, a 2011 graduate of the University of Connecticut and Brian, a 2007 graduate of Assumption College and the former head men's and women's cross country coach at Clark University.
