New London, Conn. - Junior Nick Devine scored
with 1:29 left in regulation leading Coast Guard to a 2-1 win over
Clark in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference
(NEWMAC) game.
Sophomore Anthony Walker assisted on Devine's game winner, his
team-high seventh goal of the year.
Clark (9-5-1, 1-4-1) scored the only goal of the first half when
senior John Machado (Bristol, Conn.) found the
back of the net in the 31st minutes.
Coast Guard (6-9, 2-3) tied the game with 10:44 left in regulation
off a corner kick as sophomore Brett Godiksen fed senior Jacob
Larsen. It was Godiksen's team-high seven assist of the season.
The Bears outshot the Cougars 7-6. Freshman goalkeeper Ryan King (Brimfield, Mass.) made two saves for Clark while
Coast Guard senior Tim Olah made one save to record the win.
Coast Guard won its second straight NEWMAC game and can now secure
a home game in the first round of the conference tournament with a
win over Springfield on Saturday.
Clark, meanwhile, will play its last regular season game of the
year on Tuesday when they visit Framingham State.
