Providence, R.I. - The Clark University men's
tennis team won four of six in singles matches and took two of
three in doubles action to defeat host Rhode Island College, 6-3,
at the RIC Tennis Courts on Thursday afternoon.
The Cougars raise their record to 2-0, while RIC (0-2) is still
searching for its first victory.
Clark freshmen Diego Angel (Lima, Peru),
Harris Rollinger (Lexington, Mass.) and
Dan Paradee (Gardiner, Maine), along with senior
Marcus Abramson (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.), all
won in straight sets at No. 1, 3, 4 and 6 singles, respectively, to
help the Cougars achieve victory.
Angel and Rollinger combined to win at No. 1 doubles as well.
RIC junior captains Nate Rebello and Matt Allard won at No. 2 and 5
singles. Rebello paired with junior Mike Aiello for the club's lone
doubles win at the second spot.
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will play at Division I
Bryant on Saturday, March 27 while the Cougars open their home
slate with a NEWMAC contest against Coast Guard.
