Cougars Fall To Coast Guard, 7-2

Worcester, Mass. - Powered by two doubles victories and straight set wins at No. 1, No. 2, No. 3 and No. 6, visiting Coast Guard Academy rolled to a 7-2 win over host Clark in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) action on Corash Courts on Monday afternoon.

The Bears' Nick Martin defeated Harris Rollinger (Lexington, Mass.) 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2, while Blake Maurer took down Dan Paradee (Gardiner, Maine) 6-4, 6-2 at No. 3.

The Cougars' wins came at No. 4 when Nathan Maltais (Seabrook, N.H.) dropped Cody Issacson in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2 and at No. 3 doubles when the tandem of Phillip Porter (Cortland Manor, N.Y.) and Marcus Abramson (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) collected an 8-1 win.

Clark returns to the court on Tuesday with a road match at Becker, while Coast Guard gets back into action on Thursday with a non-league matchup with Trinity.
