Box Score

Leicester, Mass. - Clark University scored two unanswered goals in the second half and the Cougars improved to 3-0 with a 3-1 over Anna Maria in the 2010 Worcester City Men's Soccer Tournament on Sunday afternoon at Becker College's Alumni Field.

Clark got on the board with 24:48 remaining in the first half when Gianluca Ranallo (Scarsdale, N.Y.) took a cross pass from William Van Noppen (Providence, R.I.), making the score 1-0.

Anna Maria tied that game with 1:03 remaining in the half when freshman Ben Breese-Young blasted his first collegiate goal into the right corner of the net on a direct kick.

Clark regained the lead for good with 34:42 remaining when Brain Arsenault (South Portland, Maine) broke past the Anna Maria defense for his second goal of the season.

The Cougars put the game out of reach when Josh Demers (Warwick, R.I.) redirected a shot past the dive of Anna Maria goalkeeper Mike Dandurand for his second tally of the season, making the score 3-1.

Dandurand made six saves in the lost, while Ryan King (Brimfield, Mass.) made two stops for Clark.

The Cougars return to action on Wednesday when they visit Nichols College beginning at 4:00 p.m.
