Orlando, Fla. – The Clark men's tennis team opened up the spring portion of its 2011 season with a 7-2 loss to Drew (N.J.) University on Monday afternoon at the Fort Gatlin Tennis Center in Orlando, Fla.
The Cougars (0-3) won at No. 1 doubles with Diego Angel (Lima, Peru) teaming up with Harris Rollinger (Lexington, Mass.) to knock off Elliott and Raul Smego, 8-5.
Angel then went on to defeat Raul Smego in a three-set affair. Smego won the first set 6-4, before Angel rallied to take the second, 6-4. Angel then won the tiebreaker 10-5 to take the match.
Clark will be back in action on Tuesday when they face Monmouth beginning at 10:30 a.m.
