Orlando, Fla. – Monmouth (Ill.) College swept the doubles matches and improved to 5-3 with an 8-1 win over Clark University in men's tennis action on Tuesday morning at the Fort Gatlin Tennis Center.
The Fighting Scots also won five of the six singles matches including four in straight sets.
Clark's lone victory came at No. 1 singles as Diego Angel (Lima, Peru) rolled to a straight set win over Chris Franco, 6-0, 6-0.
The contest's best match came at No. 4, where sophomore Dan Hall (Sutton, Mass.) dropped the first set to David Stewart, 6-3. He then bounced back to take the second set 6-3 before eventually falling, 10-6 in the decisive third set.
The Cougars will face Ursinus on Wednesday to wrap up their trip.
