Orlando, Fla. – Ursinus (Pa.) College won two of the three doubles matches and four of the six singles matches en route to a 6-3 win over Clark University in men's tennis action on Wednesday afternoon at the Gatlin Tennis Center.
With the win, the Bears improve to 4-0, while the Cougars remain winless at 0-4.
Clark's victory at doubles came at No. 2 as Aaron Chin (Hong Kong, China) and Spencer Brightman (Sudbury, Mass.) defeated Sean Kelley/Brent Stevenson with relative ease, 8-2.
The Cougars also got a win at No. 1 singles as Diego Angel (Lima, Peru) collected a straight set win over Evan Stutchin, 6-3, 6-4.
Chin meanwhile, pushed Stevenson to a tiebreaker at No. 3 singles, 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) and Nathan Maltais (Seabrook, N.H.) won his first set against David Rowe, 6-3, before falling 6-3 in the second set and 10-3 in the third.
Clark will return to New England for its next match – a home contest against Bridgewater State on Friday at 3:30 p.m.
