In The Crosshairs: Cougars Drop Crusaders, 5-2

Worcester, Mass. – The winning streak for the Clark University men's tennis team reached six straight games following their thrilling 5-2 win over Division I crosstown rival Holy Cross on Friday afternoon.

The Cougars (6-1) have won all of their spring matches with their lone loss coming to Division II Stonehill back in mid-October.

Clark won the doubles point in this afternoon's match, as Diego Angel (Lima, Peru) and Zack Goodstein (Columbus, Ohio) took down Ryan Sullivan and Tim Regan, 8-6 at No. 1. Then Dan Stein (Newton, Mass.) and Josh Burger (Fairfield, Conn.) teamed up to post an easy 8-1 win over Ajeya Shekar and Scot Brownell at No. 2.

In singles action, Angel dropped Sullivan, 6-4, 6-1 at No. 1, while Stein took care of Chris Das in straight sets as well, posting a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 2.

The Crusaders picked up their points at No. 3 and No. 4, as Regan handed Goodstein a 6-0, 6-3 defeat and Chris Brosnan recorded a 7-5, 6-4 win over Burger.

Clark wrapped up the match as Dan Paradee (Gardiner, Maine) defeated Connor McCann, 6-4, 7-5 at No. 5 and Joel Simonson (Waterford, Conn.) registered a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 6 over Shekar.

The Cougars will have little time to celebrate their win as they travel to Rhode Island College for a meeting with the Anchormen beginning at 1:00 p.m.
