Newcomers Shine In Season Opener At Keene State

Keene, N.H. – Newcomers Heather White and Kelsey Herod paced a quartet of Clark University runners who finished within five spots of each other to lead the Cougar contingent to a sixth place finish at the annual Keene State Alumni Invitational on Saturday morning.

White, a senior, running collegiately for the first time, wrapped up the slick 2-mile course in a time of 14:32. Fellow first time runner Herod was next to cross the finish line for Clark, clocking a 14:44 showing.

Cate Huynen (Holderness, N.H.) and Caroline Johnson (Roslindale, Mass.) were next up for the Cougars, finishing right behind Herod in 36th and 37th positions, respectively, in times of 14:45 and 14:55.

Clark will be back in action next Saturday when they take part in the Smith College Invitational.
