Box Score 2 Boston, Mass. – Shannon Glass-Smythe (Albuquerque, N.M.) and head coach Mickey Cahoon each reached career milestones as Clark University salvaged a split on the second day of the Beacon Invitational hosted by UMass-Boston on Saturday.
The Cougars dropped their opening match of the day to Augsburg College of Minnesota, 3-1 and then rallied for a 3-2 win over Roger Williams in the nightcap.

Glass-Smythe now has 1,004 kills in her standout career – 54 behind all-time program leader Sarah Haigh, who starred for the Scarlet and White from 1998-01.
Cahoon, meanwhile, reaches the century mark in his ninth season behind the bench and trails only Elyse Darefsky who is the all-time leader with 143 victories.
In the thrilling 3-2 win over Roger Williams, Marina Ramos (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) racked up a monster double-double of 19 kills and 24 digs, while Tori Whitney (Sunderland, Mass.) dished out 48 assists.
Ana Mercado (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) chipped in with 11 kills of her own, while Glass-Smythe added eight kills and 12 digs.
In the opener, the Cougars actually won the first set from the Auggies, 25-22, but Augsburg raced past them in the final three sets, including a 25-9 decision in the fourth to seal the win.

Clark, now 18-7, returns home on Tuesday for their final regular season home contest against WPI on Senior Night, where they will honor Glass-Smythe as the program's lone senior.
