-The Lead: The Holy Cross men's tennis team defeated Clark by a score of 7-0 on Wednesday afternoon in Worcester.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-Freshman Matthew Slowinski earned a hard-fought victory over Lenny Siegel (Boca Raton, Fla.) at No. 1, winning by a score of 2-6, 6-4, 10-8.
-Junior Peter Campito also earned a win at singles over Alex Hattenbach (Wilton, Conn.) in the No. 2 spot by a score of 6-2.
-At No. 3 singles, sophomore Matthew Murphy earned the victory over Clark's Jacob Malicky (South Egremont, Mass.) with a score of 6-4, 6-2.
-Freshman Andrew Vroman posted a perfect 6-0, 6-0 victory over Duncan Drapeau (Boothbay, Maine) at No. 4 singles.
-At No. 5 singles, senior Tom Cimini earned the victory with a 6-1, 6-1 score over Josh Podolsky (Sudbury, Mass.).
-Senior Johnny McAuliffe also posted a perfect 6-0, 6-0 win over Philip Conde (Scarsdale, N.Y.) in the No. 6 spot.
-The Crusaders also swept in doubles play, as Campito and Slowinski won 6-3 at No. 1 while Vroman and Murphy won 6-0 at No. 2. Cimini and McAuliffe also posted a 6-0 win at No. 3.
