How It Happened:
In the opener after falling behind 2-0 in the first inning, Clark scratched its way back getting single runs in the second and third innings. The run in the second came courtesy of a Kendra Walker (Cumberland, R.I.) run scoring single and the other came off the bat of Christina Kopacz (North Grosvenordale, Conn.), who blasted the first homerun of her career.

The Pioneers answered right back in the fourth on a two-run homerun by Amanda Pioggia, making the score 4-2.

Rowan Turner drove in another run for Smith in the fifth with an RBI groundout and then they pushed across three more in the seventh, upping their advantage to 8-2.

Clark's other run came in the bottom of the seventh when Lauren Mackey (Dublin, N.H.) scored on a Leah Bodin (Andover, Vt.) single.

Brenna Foley (Charlton, Mass.) takes the loss for the Scarlet and White after going four innings and yielding five earned runs.

Jocie Orangio (Maynard, Mass.) was the lone Cougar with multiple hits (2-for-4).

In the nightcap, Turner moved from first base to the circle and was unhittable, spinning a five inning no-hitter. She did yield three walks but she also struck out three to collect her third win of the season.

Tyler Feeney was the offensive star for the Pioneers in the second game, going 2-for-3 with a double, a homerun and three RBI.
