Avery Dillon Named to All-NEWMAC Second Team

MARLBOROUGH, Mass. – Clark University softball sophomore Avery Dillon was named to the All-NEWMAC Second Team as announced by the conference office on Tuesday morning.

All-NEWMAC

This marks Dillon's first conference accolade and marks the third straight season Clark has seen a player earn a spot on the All-NEWMAC Team as Rebecca Mauro received the recognition the prior two seasons.

Dillon (Bethany, Conn.) batted .306 on the season, tallied 34 hits, drove in 16 runs, scored 14 runs, registered six doubles and stole six bases. She opened the season on a 12-game hitting streak, including three-hit efforts against Bluffton and Mass. Maritime while adding RBI's in seven of the contests.

In NEWMAC play, the sophomore elevated her game with a .321 batting average (second on team) and led the team with 17 hits. In nine of the NEWMAC series played, she tallied at least one hit and against Emerson, she combined to go 4-7 in the two games with four RBI's and a pair of runs scored. Against NEWMAC champion WPI, she scored and drove in a run in game two and earlier in the year recorded a pair of hits, including a double. In conference play, she recorded a seven-game hit streak.
