Clark Cruises to 8-1 Victory over Division II Saint Michael's

-The Lead: The Clark University men's tennis team downed division II opponent, St. Michael's College on Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED

-Clark swept doubles play. Sophomore Jose Dalla-Valle (Miami, Fla.) and Nicholas Mathieu (Tompsham, Maine) kicked things off with a shutout over Max Allen (Dennis, Mass.) and Dan Foley (Wellesley, Mass.) (8-0). Clark junior Jack Han (Bakersfield, Calif.) and first year Max Schweitzer (West Hartford, Conn.) came away with an 8-3 victory over Colby Antonacci (Bolton Valley, Vt.) and Cam Maher Exeter, N.H.). Senior Jacob Malicky (South Egremont, Mass.) and junior Alex Hattenbach (Wilton, Conn.) closed out doubles play with an 8-5 victory over Saint Michael's Matt Mosher (Fairfield, Conn.) and Constantin Krogh (Oslo, Norway).

-Freshman Ivan Llona (Shelburne, Vt.) picked up Saint Michael's lone victory at No. 6 singles, 6-2, 3-6, 10-7, in his college debut.

-Dalla-Valle, Mathieu, Shweitzer, Han and Hattenbach all came out on top in singles play to secure the 8-1 victory for Clark.

-Clark hosts Johnson & Wales on Wednesday, September 19th at 3:30 p.m.

-Saint Michael's travels to Regis College on September 28th for a 3:00 p.m. match.
