HOW IT HAPPENED

-Clark opened up scoring with 29 minutes on the clock when junior Trevor Sheridan (Massepequa Park, N.Y.) took a throw in from the right side that made it over the fingertips of UNE goalkeeper, Will Shearon (Newcastle, England), to junior Evan Jurkowski (Ludlow, Mass.) who headed the ball over the goal line (1-0).

-With 6:30 in the first half freshman Javier Amezcua (New Rochelle, N.Y.) collected the ball at half and dished it to his classmate Brian Brennan (Stoneham, Mass.) who dribbled to the top of the goal box and found Connor Ross (Atkinson, N.H.) off his right shoulder. Ross dodged a UNE defender and made his way into the right side of the goal box and fired a shot into the bottom left corner (2-0)

-With 3 minutes to play in the first stanza freshman Derek Jones (Westford, Mass.) found Ross who crossed to the left side where Amezcua was to knock in his first goal of the season (3-0).

-Just a minute later junior Charlie Lane (Southborough, Mass.) launched a free kick to the left side of the box where junior Sean Munroe (Silver Spring, Md.) was posted up to head the ball in over the left side of Shearon, and the Cougars took the 4-0 lead into the halftime break.

-20 minutes into the second half Clark struck again when a corner kick for Clark was deflected off on a UNE defender and onto the feet of freshman Daniel Moura (Port St. Lucie, Fla.). Moura wound up for a shot at the top of the box and put it into the top left shelf for the 5-0 advantage.
