New London, Conn.--Today's match ended in a 9-0 victory in favor of the Coast Guard Academy Bears. Clark traveled down to New London for the match but could not come back home with a win. Having three players from Connecticut, it was a homecoming for a few of the Cougars. Coast Guard is now 6-5 on the season and the Cougars slip to 8-9.
Singles:
-Christian Ruebens (Chesire, Conn.) was defeated in straight sets at the No. 1 singles spot.
-In a close match-up in the No. 2 match, Max Schweitzer (West Hartford, Conn.) was beaten. CGA's Arthur Wicke won in two sets, 7-6 and 7-5.
-Alex Hattenbach (Wilton, Conn.) fell to his opponent in two sets. The finals were 6-2 and 6-1.
-Senior Ian Levy (Needham, Mass.) was taken down by his counterpart 6-2, 6-4.
-CGA picked up a victory at the No. 5 position. Jack Phillips beat Jacob Malicky (South Egremont, Mass.) in two sets, 6-2 and 6-4.
-To round out the singles matches, CGA claimed the win in the No. 6 match. Nathan Kapiloff was overpowerd by his opponent in straight sets.
Doubles:
-Ruebens and Schweitzer were beaten by CGA's No. 1 duo, 8 to 4.
-Malicky and Hattenbach competed for Clark in the No. 2 spot. They lost by a score of 8 to 4 as well.
-Levy and Kapiloff played together at the No. 3 position and couldn't get by their opponent. They fell 8 to 0 in that match.

-Clark's next opponent is another NEWMAC school. The Cougars travel to Babson on Saturday, April 13th for a 10:30AM match.
-Coast Guard takes their two game winning streak to MIT next. The match at MIT starts at 1:00PM this coming Saturday the 13th.
