Babson Park, MA
Yesterday afternoon, the Clark Men's Tennis team lost to Babson by a score of 9-0. Babson overpowered the Cougars depsite some match-ups in which Clark scored well. There are now three matches left on the season for Clark, sitting with a record of 8-10. Babson's win moves them to 10-4.
Doubles:
-For the Cougars, Christian Ruebens (Chesire, CT) and Nicholas Mathieu (Topsham, ME) competed at No. 1 doubles. They fell short in the well contested match, 8-6.
-Jacob Malicky (South Egremont, MA) and his partner Alex Hattenbach (Wilton, CT) lost in their No. 2 match, 8-4.
-Clark No. 3 duo Max Schweitzer (West Hartford, CT) and Ian Levy (Needham, MA) were bested 8-0 by the Babson pair.
Singles:
-Clark's Mathieu was defeated in straight sets by Babson's Libnic, 6-2 and 6-2 in No 1 singles.
-Ruebens played No. 2 singles for Clark and went two sets with his opponent. Babson took the match 6-3 and 6-2.
-Schweitzer competed for the Cougars in the No. 3 spot, losing in straight sets.
-Levy's efforts did not come out with a No. 4 singles victory. Babson's Zhang won the point, 6-1 and 6-2.
-Malicky played in the No. 4 singles match for Clark, losing in two sets to his opponent.
-Nathan Kapiloff played in the only singles match to go three sets on the day. Kapiloff looked good in the first set, winning it 6-4. Dylan Pace of Babson took the next two sets however. Set two's final was 6-1 and the last set went to a tiebreaker, finishing 10-6.

-Clark travels to Norton, MA for a match-up with Wheaton next. That conference match starts at 4:00PM on Wednesday, April 17th.
-Babson's next match is tomorrow, April 15th. They host Franklin Pierce for a 3:15PM match-up.
