Seniors Brian Brennan and  Andrew Pimental, and first year Zachary Kratz netted goals for the Cougars. Pimental and Kratz's goals were both the first of their collegiate careers.

Coach O'Toole's Thoughts:

How it Happened

  • The Cougars came out of the gates hot, grad students Patrick Clark and Alex Nicholson and senior Greg Amador all got great looks at the goal in the first ten minutes of play, but all were stopped by Fitchburg's senior keeper Sebastian Jaramillo.

  • In the 32nd minute, Fitchburg state got their first look at the goal when senior John Javaloyes redirected a ball served into the box, but missed the goal just wide.
  • Just before the half, in the 40th minute, senior Andrew Pimental scored his first goal of the season after burying a pass from Brennan behind Fitchburg's Jaramillo.
  • In the 71st minute Clark got another good look when Senior Taro Makihara launched the ball from the outside of the 18 and sent the ball just wide of the post.
  • In the 82nd minute junior Ezekiel Palmer found first year Zachary Kratz who found the back of the net for his first career goal.
