Coach Sharma and Ryan's Thoughts

"It's always great to end the season at the NCAA Regionals Meet. This year was fantastic as we didn't have to weather the blistering cold in Maine and could race at a course closer to home. The course was a bit beat up and muddy after the D1 meet yesterday, and it was destined to be a slower meet than normal due to the conditions. However, many of our athletes beat their previous times at this course just a month ago, which we were really pleased to see. Although we lost and had setbacks for some of our top runners to injuries, the team made it to the end of the season to finish strong. The women's team placed well, while our men's team despite missing two of the top 8 finished strong as well. Overall, as coaches, we are extremely proud of how our athletes performed throughout the season. After almost two years since we last competed, they came back almost like they never left. From practice to race day, it was smooth, slick, and quite the sight to see the team working like a well-oiled machine.

We had a lot of support from Alumni, Family, Former Coach, and Friends today, and we are so happy to see so many familiar faces! We haven't had this much support in the past, and we are extremely grateful for everyone coming to support us after such difficult couple of years. We want to give a big shoutout to our seniors who have been a part of this team for the last 4 years, endured the many cold and brittle mornings and races, and led by example to help the Coaches out. We also want to give our best to our underclassmen and hope they will continue to run with the Clark XC spirit as the years go by and take care of this team that we love. It's been an honor to have been a member, a captain, and now coach of this team and we will forever be grateful for this opportunity."
